2000. La progettazione dell\u2019impianto ebbe inizio gi\u00e0 prima, cosicch\u00e9 i lavori potevano iniziare gi\u00e0 a giugno 2000. Due anni dopo l\u2019osservatorio venne inaugurato ufficialmente.<\/p>\n<p>I costi, pari a 580.000 euro, sono stati sostenuti per il 75% dalla Giunta Provinciale dell&#8217;Alto Adige, per il 20% dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio e per il 5% dal Comune di Cornedo all&#8217;Isarco.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019osservatorio viene gestito dall\u2019associazione ONLUS dei astrofili Max Valier su incarico del I rilievi sulla sua superficie corrispondono ai continenti della nostra terra. L&#8217;asse terrestre \u00e8 allineata verso la stella polare. In questo modo \u00e8 possibile l&#8217;osservazione delle quattro stagioni e inoltre mostrare il giorno e la notte polare.<\/p>\n<p>Il tropico del Cancro e del Capricorno e l&#8217;equatore sono indicati sulla sfera. Lungo l&#8217;equatore, a distanze di 15 gradi, si trovano dei marcatori. La distanza tra due marcatori corrisponde ad uno spostamento di un&#8217;ora sulla terra. L&#8217;indicatore rosso rappresenta il meridiano di Greenwich.<\/p>\n<p>Dall&#8217;ombra proiettata dai segni si pu\u00f2 leggere l&#8217;ora solare reale in qualsiasi punto della terra, cos\u00ec
